WHY I DESIGN ? | #YiD - @the.illiterate.girl ------------------------------------------
About the art world, it does bother me that most people think you can’t be good at drawing or painting if you are good at maths and science.
Which I think is a completely mistaken point of view, from my own personal experience, I’ve come to realise that these two things are totally complementary.
My advice - See failure as an opportunity for learning.
Every time you fail, in one way or another, you can get valuable knowledge from it and make the best of it! Although I recognise at first is not easy, but it does gets easier in time.
I think the art life is really challenging, every day we have new artists, people change their mind constantly and the process of creativity is not always an easy one. To overcome all of these I think it is important to be constantly looking for new ideas, always observing, practicing and communicating with our surroundings.
I’ve had some memorable responses to my art work, but the one I remember the most is a guy who asked me if I could start printing t-shirts with my illustration for him to buy, and after that a lot of people wanted to buy them to, it was great!
Three artists that I admire are @catalinabu, because of the way she represents daily life with a unique and accurate simplicity. @2huebert because of his use of color and simple lines. The last one is @jeninuferu , I find her work really inspiring and the colors are so vibrant that remind of a kind of contagious happiness. - Mercedes Prieto
